Ducks Inn Restaurant Reviews
One of our favourite inns in Scotland
We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Ducks, taking advantage of their Tasting Menu offer, and couldn’t have been more pleased. The Inn is friendly, welcoming, comfortable and homely.
The Tasting Menu was not only delicious, but a great dining experience, thanks to the service by a young woman from Romania.
Since we stayed 2 nights, the Tasting Menu had to be adjusted on the second night, and Alan came out and discussed what might be possible. The result was that we had two fantastic dinners which would have stood up well on Masterchef.
The chefs are to be congratulated. Alan also recommended a wine, which turned out to be an excellent recommendation.
Each of the owners stopped by our table at dinner and breakfast for a chat; they are both very hands-on which shows in the successful running of the Inn.
Ducks is one of our favourite places to stay in Scotland, and it won’t be long before we are back to enjoy another stay.
Can I give 10 stars?
Visited with my husband for our 15 year Anniversary & had the tasting menu & overnight stay. Absolutely everything, from the warm &
genuine welcome, to the incredible food – every morsel cooked with love, to the fantastically friendly staff, comfortable room & beautiful breakfast was just perfect.
It’s a joy to visit a family run business where the family really care about giving the best service – and do! We can’t wait to go back! Thank you so much to the team again. I have a shellfish allergy, which the chef didn’t know about until I arrived, but it was absolutely no problem to offer me alternatives (which were by no means second best!) Foie Gras for example!
Amazing! Even the goat’s cheese ice cream!
Amazing! Tasty dinner and great service! I would definitely recommend!
We had the tasting menu and enjoyed every part of it, even the goat’s cheese and honey ice cream! It was all cooked perfectly and the meal left us feeling the right level of full. Four of us went for a 21st birthday meal and the staff were attentive, accommodating and friendly!
Fantastic place, lovely friendly staff and the food was excellent
After a walk along the beach, we were ready for some food. We had always wanted to visit the Ducks Inn and were not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming especially the owners daughter who spent some time chatting with us.
We also met Malcolm the owner who welcomed us very warmly. The menu was good. I had fish and chips which was very fresh and the tartare sauce was so delicious. My husband had the steak sandwich which was well cooked. If you like great food and a warm welcome you will not be disappointed.
Will definitely return on our next beach visit. Thank you!
We were driving past, looking for fish and chips after a day out in East Lothian. We parked in front of a big welcome muddy boots sign and found a haven of superb food, great hospitality, and a wonderful whisky collection… we almost ended up staying the weekend! The fish and chips were stunning!
If you like really nice wine & excellent single malts this is the place to be. It’s a lovely cosy bar, where you feel at home almost as soon as you sit down. A good mix of hotel residents and locals just works brilliantly. We will be back soon.
