We welcome Paulo Nicolas Airaudo as our new Head Chef, he was sous chef to Adam Simmonds at Danesfield House, Marlow where they held a Michelin Star and 4 AA Rosettes. The first thing we are doing is changing the Donald’s Bistro Menu, view the new menu by clicking here.
The left side of the menu,”Pub Classics”, is available for you 12 noon till 9.30pm. The soups, fish and chips, the burger and the rib eye seem to be being enjoyed by one and all. The fish and chips is done with cod and getting great reviews, you especially seem to like the home-made Tartare sauce. Lots of you are coming back especially for the burgers and rib eye.
The right side of the menu is more what you would have expected in Ducks Restaurant but you seem to feel is a much higher standard. Open from 12 to 2.30 and 6.30 till 9.30 it’s all about taste and flavour, designed for you to be able to manage three courses! If you are just off the golf course you can always have a side dish, the mash potatoes are so smooth.
Many of you are choosing from both sides which is great because it means Donald’s now appeals to a much wider audience who simple enjoy good food.
We look froward to seeing you and sharing your reaction to the new menu.
DONALD’S BAR BISTRO
Simple homemade classics in a relaxed pub atmosphere using local freshly sourced ingredients, Donald’s is Ducks sister restaurant so the cooking should be good; Great fish and chips, lambs liver, steak pie, pure beef burgers, seafood chowder steak and fish pie are all regulars on the menu. Mussels, lobster, a variety of fresh fish and game all make appearances depending on the season. Donald’s is great for groups and exclusive use parties, it even has a dance floor! The set menus for groups are a house specialty allowing the chefs to make full use of the abundant local produce ordering the night before for your dinner the next evening. The wine list is simple but excellent, wine is one of Malcolm’s passions and the legendary Ducks wine list is available on request. There are also over seventy malts, cigars and real ales.
