Ducks at Kilspindie House

front-page-image mediumA short hop from Edinburgh City Centre (half an hour by car, 18 minutes by train) Ducks at Kilspindie House is nestled in the picturesque village of Aberlady; surrounded by 21 golf courses in one of the best regions for golf in Scotland – Scotland’s Golf Coast.  Aberlady Bay just 5 minuites walk away is Britain’s oldest Nature Reserve, the whole area is renowned for Bird Watching.  It is a great base for exploring East Lothian. We are happy to organise golf breaks and bird watching trips.

Duck’s at Kilspindie House is a relaxed and friendly family run ‘restaurant with rooms’ offering two separate dining experiences; from Ducks two AA Rosette fine dining to Donald’s casual excellent bar bistro food, we have twenty three extremely comfortable en-suite rooms. We are also a ‘Home from Home’ partner bar with the ‘Scotch Malt Whisky Society‘ or SMSW

Ducks Restaurant is an intimate two AA Rosette fine dining restaurant with a long history originating in Edinburgh’s New Town, with just ten tables, candles and white linen, it is one of the best in East Lothian.
Donald’s Bar Bistro is an excellent bar bistro for a more casual dining experience. The cosy, inviting bar serves a wide range of wine, ales and whiskeys.
Ducklings Coffee Shop caters to your quick bites, soups, coffees, morning rolls; which are available to eat in or take away.
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottle all their own whiskys and have a unique numbering system rather than using distillery names.  We very much enjoy our ‘Home from Home relationship with them. The Bar has about 70 malts and real ales.

Throughout the hotel there are three al fresco dining areas, all of which contribute to the unique ambiance of Ducks at Kilspindie House. All the en-suite rooms at Duck’s at Kilspindie House have TVs, tea/coffee making facilities and free Wi-Fi. With great food all prepared on the premises from local fresh produce; we are a little like an Inn. Our coastal location makes us perfect for golfers, bird watchers, walkers or folk simply wanting to flit between the country side and the marvels of Edinburgh just 18 minutes away by train.

Other close by attractions are: The Sea Bird Centre with their cameras on the Bass (rock) off North Berwick and boat trips; The Museum of Flight with one of only 8 surviving Concorde aircraft; Glenkinchie Distillery only 8 miles away making The Edinburgh Malt.  Glenkinchie 12 yr old is our house pour and absolutely delicious.
